Most
offices host a variety of input/output devices - faxes, copiers, scanners
and printers - that need to be operated individually. They take up
valuable space, compatibility can be a problem and downtime is often
excessive. By combining their functions and sharing them with everyone on
the office network, you can greatly increase productivity and
cost-effectiveness. The iR3250i combines everything you need in a single
device - printer, copier, colour scanner and fully integrated,
network-enabled data distribution system.
The iR3250i acts as the hub through which all
information flows. You can move documents from paper to digital format at
the touch of a button, doing away with wasteful duplication of hard copy
document originals, once in a digital format these can be more effectively
managed and distributed. In short, you'll enable your workgroups to
communicate, manage and share information more efficiently, more flexibly
and faster than ever before.

Canon
have revolutionised the way you distribute information. In a single
operation you can send documents to multiple destinations, eliminating the
expense of printing, collating and forwarding paper copies.
Instead of using folders and
filing cabinets, you can scan documents directly into the iR3250i and
distribute them digitally to a file server for storage via your
company’s LAN. The information can be viewed and shared by anyone on the
network with authorised access to those files. It can also be distributed
as an e-mail attachment, fax or i-fax, mailbox or another iR3250i.
Seamless
integration
You'll
have no problems integrating the iR3250i with existing network
environments. Scanned originals can be sent direct to Windows
95/98/NT/2000, Netware and FTP shared folders. In most cases, all you have
to do is create a shared folder on the existing file server and then
register the path to the folder in the iR3250i's address book.
Remote
/ Tandem copying
Efficient
remote and tandem copying facilities offer organisations a host of time
saving, cost saving and productivity benefits. With tandem copying users
can select another iR3250i from a list of up to 7 other iR3250i devices
and share the workload on higher volume runs (creating a virtual device of
up to 64ppm). Further, the remote copying feature allows networked users
to take advantage of system accessories not available on local machines
(such as optional duplexing or advanced finishing functions) by
identifying another iR3250i unit on the network.

Thanks
to the built-in web server function, you can access the iR3250i remotely
from any PC on your network. You can issue commands, check on status, use
the mailbox, edit address lists and more. From jobs stored in the mailbox
you can stop, start, print and re- direct images stored in mailboxes. The
iR3250i will even email you with a 'job done' notification.

We
designed the iR3250i to integrate desktop PC’s with paper- based office
workflow. This facilitates the creation and collation of documents
outputted from a variety of sources.
Whether
scanned or printed, data can be stored in the mailbox and then combined in
a single document, ready to be output. You can do this at the main unit's
touch panel or from any PC linked to the network.
Network
colour scanner
The
iR3250i's network colour scanner gives you high-speed, high- resolution
rendition of monochrome or colour originals. There's no longer any need
for a separate scanning environment, requiring dedicated software. The
built-in scanner permits you to send data direct to an existing file
server or individual email account.
Paperless
Faxing
Using
the fax driver (fax board is an optional accessory), sending faxes with
the iR3250i becomes an entirely paperless function. Documents created in
different applications can be sent digitally, direct from your desktop PC,
without being converted into hard copies first. Resolution is better, you
save time and your stationery bill is significantly reduced.
Internet
Faxing
The
iR3250i also supports the ITU-T Standard Internet Fax Simple mode, so you
can use the internet rather than the phone system to transmit faxes.
You'll save on paper costs since you don't need to print hard copies -
even lengthy documents can be sent in seconds. International and
long-distance i-faxes are just as economical as ones to local destinations
and in today's global economy, that could mean big savings.
